EntrepreneursMaking Money

First of all, I think anyone can join in this challenge - it's about learning how to make money without breaking the bank really. So what if you've spent money on your business so far? That's great! Now try and see if you can build it for another 30 days without spending any cash. I think, if anything, the whole point is to become more creative with our marketing tools. I've gotten stagnant at times myself. Sometimes all it takes is a different protocol, way of viewing a problem, or forced crisis to do things different. Which, sometimes, can be better. I've got content swapping as one of my tactics for making money (increasing readership and therefore exposing your product, service or ideas to other people who may require whatever you've got going on) - so perhaps we could exchange content for that day? I'll message you privately about this idea.

"become more creative with our marketing tools." OK. I am just getting ready for the beginning of the academic year - as is everyone else. I will not spend any thing for 30 days - but after that I best fast track or the year will take off with out me. "different protocol" - OK I have one to write about Are there others taking the challenge?

Hi Jo, I'm sure there are others taking the challenge, but none have posted here yet to let us know about it. Mind you, not spending any money to make money isn't a new idea. Call it frugal business sense if you will! » schizomonster - Making Money Without Spending a Dime Challenge In response to Making Money Without Spending a Dime Challenge posted by Bonny:It is between you are too smart, or me being to dumb. I would really like to take the challenge, but sorry I can't. Believing the old adage that "Time is Money," and since everything to do needs our time to be dedicated, then everything needs money. Beside that, everything we do needs energy, and to have energy we have to eat food. To have food we must have money to buy them. Again, everything we do needs money. Now, defying the fact that Passive Activities (like waiting, or sleeping) is also another form of activities which needs money, and narrowing the definition of activities only to Active Activities. That means, we make money by doing nothing. I am really sorry, but the only persons come into my mind that could do that is only beggars, fundraisers for charity, children (by asking to their parents), and seniors (by asking to their child). Please, no hard feeling. It's just a thought. May be I am wrong. If I am wrong, please enlighten me. -- posted by schizomonster

It's not my place to tell you you are "wrong". You have an opinion, and that's great. I respect that. Having said that, there are ways to make money without an investment of cash. There is always an investment of something, and in this case it is time. This challenge so far has netted me work and clients I didn't have previously, and many more leads than I have ever found using "normal" cash-based advertising methods. Was it worth it to me? Without question. Would it be to you? I don't know. As for 'doing something for nothing', I disagree with your observation. Beggars and fundraisers invest their time (as I am doing here with this challenge) to make money, as do gardeners, cooks and almost every other service you can think of. We all invest our time to make something: money, relationships and so forth. Is that nothing? Again, that's a moral decision for yourself and any other philosophers out there. » Lipz27 - Making Money Without Spending a Dime Challenge In response to Making Money Without Spending a Dime Challenge posted by Bonny:

Hello and congratulations on taking the first plunge into entrepreurship! You've got website and design taken care of. The next step, in my mind, is figuring out keywords relevant to your product/service. Take a peek at Day 7: SEO Article Writing (http://entrepreneurs.suite101.com/blogs.... and Day 8: More SEO Article Writing (http://entrepreneurs.suite101.com/blogs.... to get started. Once you've figured out your key words, use them in your 'generic' pages (i.e. about us, intro/welcome page, policies and/or small print) for about a 2-5% density (meaning, they show up in your content 2-5% of the time) - while still making your site sound inviting, useful and not-keyword-stuffed. Yes, it's hard. Then, populate your site with content - relevant to your product or service - with free articles from places like EzineArticles.com. Do searches for your keywords and you'll find exactly what you are looking for. You can either use these articles (with credit, of course) right on your site or as a part of a blog. FYI: WordPress offers open source - meaning, free - use of it's blogging platform on your own server/website. Then, keep updating the content every couple of days, no matter what. Again, a blog is useful for this, just make sure it's relevant to your potential customers. Once you've got your content zooming along (I'd give it a month of solid content-boosting tactics), start using promotional techniques to get the word out about your new business, such as: Free Press Release Distribution Post Free Classified Ads Get Free Mailing Lists Don't forget to keep up with the challenge, as I am still posting things in there regularly to assist you (and others like you) get business rolling without any outlay of cash. And make sure to keep us posted on your progress! » lcbusiness - 30 day challenge In response to 30 day challenge posted by Bonny:
Upon me finding this site I had done a tone of research for my business and was pretty much on the right track. I hope to be able to generate some business through all of my work. I have had tons of emails and phone messages from vendors. I spent today posting responses. I was wondering where can I locate Day 7 of the 30 day challenge. Also my blog site is lcbusiness.worldpress.com -- posted by lcbusiness

Sometimes simply touching base, picking up the phone, or asking for a referral can make a huge difference. And the sound of your voice doesn't cost you anything. Angela « Previous 1 2 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
