You may not want to market your services at the car dealerships, but most newspapers and community gathering places would be happy to take your advertising and let their constituents know there's someone in town that can be trusted.

A basic windshield repair kit can now be found at most hardware stores in large metropolitan areas. Finding clients is even easier: just take a look at the parking lot of your favorite company to see who is in need of your services, and leave a flier on their windshield with a list of price options, contact information and location of service. If you are willing and able to provide this service at their place of business or home, even better - and make the client aware of this extra benefit in all of your marketing materials.
Business Idea: Mobile Mechanic
Any mechanic willing to go to a car to see what the trouble is, instead of making someone tow it into the shop or take time off work to bring it in will be in huge demand. Plus, a mobile mechanic business will save you the time and energy of having to set up shop somewhere - all you'll need is a van with your tools neatly tucked inside, ready to go on a moment's notice. Sure, there may be some instances where you'll need a shop to do a bit of dirty work, but that's when you can inform the client what's needed, and then they can decide what's best for their situation. Either way, you'll be paid well for your skills, service and availability.
